Since most of the double-angle clamps now available are considered too shallow in the jaw section due to short distal tip section, this deep-jaw selection of DeBakey-style Clamps was designed. The set consists of five instruments varying in length and jaw size. All have unusually long distal sections adding to their value as partial tangential occlusion clamps. Dull, non-glare finished stainless steel. Many Pilling® Vascular Clamps feature the DeBakey–type Non-Traumatic Jaws and LIFE-LOK® Mortise Box-Lock. Ratchets on Pilling® Vascular Clamps provide the precision control needed for arterial clamping. Ratchets are designed with steps (1 x 7, 1 x 9, 1 x 11) to furnish the specific amounts of desired pressure. Jaws are precision-set by hand. Coordination of ratchet length and jawsetting provides the accurate amount of required compression. Many styles of DeBakey – type Clamps are available with spring handles. With this construction feature, a portion of the shaft is flattened or otherwise altered and specially tempered to eliminate rigidity and provide a softness proportionate with the overall size and purpose of the instrument. The intention is to minimize trauma to vessels with the soft spring handles but hold securely with DeBakey–type Jaws.
